Hapuakohe windfarm

The project
The proposed Hapuakohe Wind Farm site sits northeast of Huntly amongst pastoral farmland. If built, the project estimates the wind farm could generate 790 GWh (estimate), enough electricity to power more than 105,000 average kiwi households.

The work
We have been subcontracted by Davidson-Watts Ecology to lead radio-tracking surveys of long tailed bats for the ecological impact assessment.
Working with staff from Boffa Miskell, we are leading the capture and tracking of bats at the site for roost location and habitat use assessment for bats caught at and adjacent to the windfarm location.
We are also looking to provide information around opportunities and constraints for potential offsetting and compensation measures.
