The project

East West Rail is a new railway line linking East Anglia with Oxfordshire, UK. This project is one of the largest infrastructure projects currently underway in the UK.

The work

We acted as Field Leads, providing specialist bat ecology services for tracking woodland bats captured in key woodlands along the project alignment. We carried out roost location and roost emergence surveys for bats to identify key roosting habitat and to collect data on roosting habitat use within the wider landscape of the project alignment. We also managed day-to-day tracking and roost watch operations for field work and management of data for reporting.
