Schwalmstadt windenergiepark is a 14 MW windfarm project in Schwalmstadt, Hesse, Germany operated by Bürgerwind Schwalmstadt. The windfarm was completed and has been operational since 2022.

We were subcontracted by Simon & Widdig GbR to carry out full advanced survey capture, tag and radio-track surveys for key bat species using the potential windfarm site as part of the consenting process.
We undertook repeated mist-netting operations, catching and tagging bats and radio-tracking them to roost locations to carry out roost watches. We also carried out some night time radio-tracking to assess habitat use and activity of tagged bats.
