About us

The Project

The A38 is an important route from Birmingham to Derby, UK and through to the M1 at junction 28. Where it passes through Derby, long distance traffic interacts with a large volume of vehicles making local journeys causing congestion and delays. The project intends to relieve this congestion through upgrades to the A38 junction.

Scope of work

The Work

Acting as Field Leads, we provided specialist bat ecology services for tracking woodland bats captured in Markeaton Park within the proposed project alignment. We carried out day time roost location and roost emergence surveys for bats to identify key roosting habitat within the wider area to inform potential impacts on bats of the project.
We also oversaw day-to-day field operations of field staff and data collection and management for reporting.
